Hi, My name is Lauren!

I love capturing moments and telling stories through my lens. Currently, I am in Avon, CO but in the summer months my boyfriend and I are in whatever National Park he is hired to and we live in our 13ft Scamp camper!

Why the name HIYAH, you ask? Well, ever since my mother passed in 2015, I've had photos taken of me doing a "HIYAH" air kick to show that I am always kicking adversity in the face. It isn't easy losing a parent, and I wanted to show others that when life hands you lemons, you can in fact make lemonade.

I am a storyteller, have a passion for helping small businesses grow and lending a helping hand whenever I can. In my spare time, I am an endurance athlete, teach adaptive and alpine skiing at Beaver Creek in CO, love to backpack in the backcountry, am an outdoor enthusiast and love a good workout!

My favorite moments captured are the ones I wasn't expecting to get! Nothing beats capturing a raw emotion at the perfect time. Whether it be sports photography, landscapes or portraits, I want my photos to make you feel the joy that they bring me.

When working with me, I will make you feel as comfortable as possible. In fact, a client of mine told me that I was the only professional photographer able to get her husband to smile in years! I don't believe in "posing" instead, I believe in capturing your session the way you want. It can be intimidating to have your photos taken (trust me, I get nervous in front of the camera too!) so I make sure that my #1 priority is making you feel as comfortable as possible before we get started.
